Eligibility:
The position is open to students in the fourth or fifth year of an integrated Master’s program in Law, Economics, or Political Science, as well as to PhD candidates in these fields (as of the competition’s closing date) from universities located in the Republic of Poland.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in the fourth or fifth year of an integrated Master’s program in Law, Economics, or Political Science, or PhD candidacy in one of these disciplines (as of the call’s closing date);
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written) sufficient for analyzing academic literature and drafting scientific publications; knowledge of Portuguese or eventually Spanish will be an asset;
  • Interest in constitutional law, particularly in the study of constitutional amendments;
  • Documented academic achievements, including scholarships, awards, research experience in Poland or abroad, participation in workshops and academic training programs, and involvement in research projects;
  • Scientific publications in English will be an additional asset.

 

Job Description

The Scholarship Grantee (Stypendysta) will work on the project “Constitutional Zugzwang: Towards an amendment theory on constitutional momentum”, led by Dr. Mauro Arturo Rivera León. Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and analyzing scholarly literature on constitutional law;
  • Acquiring data, classifying constitutional amendments in selected countries, and organizing datasets, as well as assisting in qualitative research and literature reviews;
  • Collaborating with the Principal Investigator on academic publications;
  • Attending project meetings and assisting in their organization;
  • Supporting communication channels, such as the project’s website and social media;
  • Assisting in the organization of project-related events;
  • Participating in domestic and international workshops and academic conferences to present project findings;
  • Assisting the Principal Investigator in project implementation, including administrative tasks and dissemination of research results.

Employment Conditions

  • Workplace: Katowice, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia
  • Scholarship Duration: 12 months, with the possibility of extension
  • Total Scholarship Amount: 30,000 PLN (2,500 PLN net per month; tax-free)
  • Start Date: As soon as possible after the announcement of results and completion of all formalities
  • Eligibility: The scholarship is contingent on maintaining eligibility or PhD student status for the full 12 months

  2. A motivation letter explaining the relevance of the project to the candidate’s academic or professional plans;
  3. A selected publication authored or co-authored by the candidate (if available);

The selection committee reserves the right to conduct interviews (in person or online) with shortlisted candidates. Interviews may be conducted in English.
