A graduate of the Master’s Degree in Russian with specialization in translation program at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Silesia with an excellent grade on his diploma and grade point average of 4.98. Besides, he studied Slavic Philology and Writing Arts at the University of Silesia and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Literary Studies. He repeatedly received His Magnificence Rector’s scholarship for the best students during his studies. He has participated in conferences and published his articles on Russian culture and literature. A member of the Russian Roulette Scientific Circle, participant of the 2014 youth exchange “Poznaj sąsiada – poznaj siebie” in Krasnoyarsk and the 2015 exchange “Rock to bunt? Legendy polskiej i rosyjskiej sceny muzyczne. Czy ich przekaz jest nadal aktualny?” He actively cooperates with the Association for Poland-East Cooperation by providing translations and participating in conferences. In 2015, Paweł Łaniewski became a finalist in the International Russian Language Olympiad organized by Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad, in which he won two years later. Author of the wschodblizej.pl portal, editor of the theatre section in the Refelktor website, author of articles in the rosysjakruletka.edu.pl website, editor in Whites and TAKA OTO, author of publications in Nowiny Zabrzańskie, Whitepress website, and co-organizer of events in the Institute of East Slavic Philology at the University of Silesia. Apart from the culture of Russia and former USSR countries, his interests include literature, philosophy, postmodernism, soccer, and boxing.
