Dorota Smyła

She is a graduate of Classical Studies in Greek and Latin Studies major. She graduated with an A. Currently, she began the undergraduate studies in History of Art. Co-organiser of Vestigia Vitruli project, which resulted in the publication of articles devoted to the ancient architecture in philological annual “Classica Catoviciensia. Scripta Minora” (Tarnów 2018). The organiser of workshops for high school students called “Roma Magica” concentrated on ancient beliefs, religions, and customs. The author of numerous scientific publications incl.: Dorota Smyła, Rzymskie posadzki, “Classica Catoviciensia. Scripta Minora”, fasc. 21, Tarnów 2018, Atramentum- sekret Apellesa, “Szkice o antyku”, t. IV, Tarnów 2018. The former chairman of the student research group of Young Classics of the University of Silesia. A former member of the editorial office of philological annual “Classica Catoviciensia”. The Rector’s scholarship holder for the best students in the years 2014-2018.

Since November 2014, she is a volunteer in refugee “Cichy Kąt”, where she takes care of stray cats. Volunteer in Friends of Stray Animals Association “Cichy Kąt”, co-organiser of numerous charity initiatives. She is a lover of the history of art and cats.
