Training

Training

Our conversations with employers show that soft skills are as important as the knowledge acquired during the studies. You can develop them by participating in workshops and trainings organized by the Career Office of the University of Silesia.

Topics and quality

We put a great emphasis on the trainings we offer so that they meet the real needs of companies and institutions, and yours, dear students. As a result, they are closely related to current labour market trends. We focus on two types of training:

  • developing your skills related to looking for a job (e.g. defining your strengths), planning, setting goals, making decisions;
  • developing social skills necessary at work, such as interpersonal communication, teamwork, creative problem solving, coping with stress or public speaking.

We place equally great emphasis on the high quality of the trainings we organise, so after each of them we ask you to complete the evaluation questionnaire or to tell us about how you liked the training in which you took part.

When and where?

During the teaching period, in the winter and summer semester, we organise trainings at our headquarters and at the particular faculties. In July, August and September, we invite you to participate in training organised at our headquarters. As part of the Summer Career Development Academy, we offer a different topic every week. In addition to traditional training, we also offer participation in online classes.

Terms and registrations

The trainings are aimed at students and graduates of the University of Silesia. The participation is free of charge. Information on upcoming trainings as well as a link to online registration can be found in the news tab on the Career Office website and on the Office’s profile on Facebook. The day before the training, our team will contact you by phone to confirm your presence or, if you are on a reserve list, to inform you about the possibility of participation.

Especially for you

We can organise a free workshop especially for you and your classmates, students from your year or a student organisation. Contact us by writing an e-mail to the following address: bk@us.edu.pl.
