We are pleased to invite you to the conference ‘From the Grassroots to Policy and Back: Putting Just Transition to Practice’, organised by the Research Centre for Public Policy and Regulatory Issues at the University of Silesia in Katowice and the Just Transition Research Collaborative. The conference will take place on October 28th, 2022 in Katowice at the CINiBA building. The conference starts at 9:30.
The conference will be honoured by Professor Jerzy Buzek with his presence and key-note speech, and key-note lecture will be given by Professor Alexandra Harrington. More than 30 participants have registered to take part in the conference and will present their speeches in six panels.
The theme of the conference is devoted to the issue of just transition with a focus on case studies from different parts of the world and Europe, different industries (such as automotive, plastics production and the most frequently cited mining industry), on a theoretical level – different understandings of the concept of just transition. The special attention given to mining and mining regions in the speeches is not surprising, but it is equally important that the thematic richness of the speeches makes it clear that the issue of just transition cannot be reduced to mining alone.
