About the programme
Film and Television Production programme aims at preparing graduates to work as a production manager, producer or creative producer of feature and documentary films, television shows and performances, as well as short television and film forms, including commercials as well as festivals and artistic events.
1st cycle studies
Film and Television Production is a prospective degree programme that allows you to acquire the skills to manage creative projects in a wide range of cinematography-related activities. The degree programme includes the acquisition of necessary and practical knowledge for professional activity in the film, television, advertising and other industries It is important to mention that the programme also offers the acquisition of essential competences in the field of economics and law necessary for future work in the film and television industries. The graduate will also acquire management skills (managing institutions and teams), which will allow them to potentially fill out various managerial positions related to the media and culture.
2nd cycle studies
Over the course of the programme, students become professionals specialising in the functioning of cinematography, mass media and television. They acquire and expand the necessary economic, legal and technological knowledge, thanks to which they will be able to effectively implement a wide range of projects. After graduation, they are capable of to independently managing film and audio-visual production, and even take up prestigious, managerial positions in artistic and cultural impresario institutions as well as distribution or marketing companies. They also develop their communication and social skills – crucial in a profession that combines skilful management and the use of creative work. Acquired skills allow the graduate to continue 3rd cycle studies.

With its artistic, educational and research activities, the K. Kieślowski Film School sets standards for the education of filmmakers and producers in Poland. The element that makes the Film School competitive is, first of all, the academic teachers associated with the film environment, outstanding cultural creators and practitioners of audiovisual industries. The K. Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia is one of only two public institutions of higher education in Poland, which offers studies in Directing, Film, Television Picture Production and Photography, Film and Television Production, Creative Management in New Media. Studying at the K. Kieślowski Film School opens the door for young art students to enter the world of film and creative industries. The K. Kieślowski Film School is a faculty friendly to students from all over the world, as shown by the record number of incoming students from the Erasmus+ programme. Another asset is the architecturally unique building (awarded many times in the world for its unique architecture) with its infrastructure reflecting European technical standards in the training of directors and cinematographers.

Film and Television Production, full-time, first degree
For candidates with the new and the old MATURA:
Interview: knowledge about film and media and a test of aptitude to act as a production manager in film and television.
Candidates must have passed the Matura/secondary school-leaving certificate.
Film and Television Production, full-time, 2nd cycle studies
University graduates (with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in Film and Television Production, economic or legal study programmes, sociology, cultural studies, journalism and social communication can apply for admission to the study programme.
Film and Television Production, part-time, 1st cycle studies
The admission process for the study programme is based on the assessment of the required documents submitted by the candidate after registration in the Online Candidate Registration System (IRK).
Film and Television Production, part-time, 2nd cycle studies
University graduates (Bachelor’s and Master’s) in the field of Film and Television Production, economic or legal study programmes, sociology, cultural studies, journalism and social communication can apply for admission to the study programme.
The admission process is based on the evaluation on the assessment of the required documents submitted by the candidate after registration in the Online Application System.
The accepted people whose graduate programme differs significantly from the programme in Film and Television Production may be required to pass the differences in curriculum.

The admission fee for Film and Television Production (1st and 2nd cycle studies stationary) is PLN 100.
The admission fee for Film and Television Production (1st and 2nd cycle studies – part-time) is PLN 85.

The programme in Film and Television Production prepares you to work in a wide range of professions related to film, television and theatre production and organisation. The competitiveness of Film and Television Production stems from the structure of the studies, thanks to which the future film (or television) producers learn to cooperate with representatives of pre-production, production and post-production film teams, as well as with representatives of creative professions at the early stage of education. An important factor shaping the uniqueness of the programme is the participation of students in film, television and festival productions both within and outside the classroom. During the course of study, students are required to complete internships in institutions associated with film, television or other related productions, which solidifies their preparation for their profession through active involvement in the activities within the audiovisual industry. What also sets this major apart are classes taught by legendary filmmakers, such as Prof. Krzysztof Zanussi. Graduates in Film and Television Production may engage in a creative profession that is among the most desirable in the European and Polish audiovisual sectors.
