English Studies

The basis of the curriculum at the English Studies degree programme, common to all majors, is the classes in theoretical and practical knowledge of the language (written language, conversations, descriptive and practical grammar, English language text comprehension), culture studies, literary studies and linguistics, which is the leading discipline for the English Studies degree programme.

Apart from the courses which traditionally form part of the curriculum in English Studies, there are also courses in general humanities, foreign languages and specialist courses, i.e. corresponding to the selected major.

The classes are run by specialists in the field of linguistics, literary studies, culture and religion studies, psychology, education and sociology; experienced practitioners (IT industry and computer games) and sworn translators.

Additionally, there are native speakers from Arabic countries, China, Japan, Korea, Germany and the United States teaching at this degree programme.

Every year there are also visiting professors from various foreign centres at the degree programme.
