Pedagogy: Protective and Educational Pedagogy, 2nd cycle studies

The goal of the studies is to broaden pedagogical knowledge of the graduates and to prepare them to undertake 3rd cycle (doctoral) studies, as well as to obtain theoretical foundations and skills for further self-education. This applies especially to the methodology of social research and MA seminar. The graduates also learn about contemporary problems of sociology and psychology, contemporary concepts of philosophy and ethics, as well as logic. The students are also prepared to build and expand their professional competences with the use of various sources of knowledge and modern technologies. They can work in a team (performing various roles, undertaking and delegating tasks), especially cooperate with other specialists. The graduates should also demonstrate the ability to perceive and independently solve scientific, educational and rehabilitation problems and have the ability to prepare publications in the field of their activity. They are also aware of the level of their knowledge and skills, understand the need for continuous professional training and personal development.

The major prepares for work in all institutions that require educational, care and support competences. Graduates of this major can be employed in various types of educational and pedagogical facilities, specialist clinics, cultural animation institutions, social welfare centres, prophylaxis centres, adult education and adult care centres, health service, state and local government administration (e.g. in nursing homes, foster care centres, kids shelters, community day-care centres, educational centres, boarding schools, sanitaria, hospitals, preventoria, psychological and pedagogical counselling centres, institutions providing help for people with addictions and people in need, centres providing help for people with disabilities, and other institutions conducting educational, care and assistance activities).
