Prof. Monika Musiał among Experts of European Research Council (ERC)

We are pleased to inform you that Prof. Monika Musiał of the USil Institute of Chemistry has been invited to the group of experts at the European Research Council (ERC), PE4 Panel (Physical and  Analytical Chemical Sciences), for the evaluation of the CoG-2024 Consolidator Grant.

Prof. Musiał is the third Polish person among the experts ot the PE4 Panel since 2013. Being part of the expert group involved two trips to Brussels for the council’s proceedings.

The ERC Consolidator Grant is dedicated to researchers who are 7 to 12 years post-PhD. The ERC supports ambitious research projects aimed at making major discoveries or achieving ground-breaking results. The criterion for project evaluation is scientific excellence.

Prof. Monika Musiał is an expert in quantum chemistry. She has co-created a series of advanced computational methods that are highly relevant to quantum chemists. Her works have had a significant impact on the scientific community (8,616 citations, and a Hirsch index of 35). She has been involved in numerous projects (as project leader or principal investigator) funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) and the National Science Centre (NCN).

Prof. Monika Musiał has shared her story regarding the scientific path she had chosen on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
