The International Student Team Competition in Mathematics

We invite all interested university students to

the International Student Team Competition in Mathematics

organized by the University of Silesia, Katowice (Poland).

The Competition takes place every year in the first half of November. This year the Competition will take place

from 7th to 9th of November 2025

The goal of the competition is to maintain a keen interest in mathematics, to encourage the development of all mathematically talented students, to support friendly relations between students and teachers of participating institutions and to promote cooperation between students and the development of interpersonal skills.

The competition is addressed to every student at any stage of the studies (undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies up to the third year), interested in mathematics.

The competition consists of two parts: individual and team. Teams may consist of up to five students.

In the individual part there will be five problems in the following areas: mathematical analysis (with topology and set theory), functional equations (including differential equations), algebra and combinatorics, geometry and linear algebra, probability theory. The team part will consist of ten problems.

Participation in person (in Katowice) is free of charge. Registration will start 1st of September.
