At the Institute of Computer and Information Sciences, the research of both theoretical and applied character is conducted. The scientific activity of the Institute’s employees focuses on the following research areas:

• expert systems and the application of rough set theory in constructing decision support systems;
• computational intelligence methods in decision support systems;
• elements of information science in biometrics and data analysis in identification and verification of identity;
• computer graphics: theory and application in computer games;
• design and optimization of sensor networks in transport systems.
