Programme in European Private Law for Postgraduates 2025

We are pleased to announce this year’s edition of Programme in European Private Law for Postgraduates held by the Faculty of Law and Administration of University Silesia in Katowice was a major success!

What is PEPP? It’s a one-year taught programme, targeted at doctorate students who work in the field of private law in the European context. The aim of PEPP is to allow the participants to experience other legal cultures first-hand, build up a European network of peers and enhance the quality of the academic work of each participant.

The event took place on 13-15 January 2025 and in the span of three days our guests were able to participate in many group activities in order to discuss, learn and establish new friendships among young, upcoming scientists.

The main points of PEPP’s were currently widely discussed topics such as:

  • Research resources University of Silesia (Monika Jagielska, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor),
  • Civil Liability for GDPR breach (Monika Jagielska, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor and Mariusz Jagielski, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor),
  • Fashion Law (Marlena Jankowska-Augustyn, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor),
  • Cross-border conversion and division of companies in the light of European Law (Professor Piotr Pinior and Mateusz Żaba, PhD),
  • ESG (Jacek Zrałek, PhD, DLitt).
  • Digital Court (Ministry of Justice, Aneta Domagalska-Wiewiórowska, PhD)

The participants also had a chance to take part in an online workshop “The role of CJEU and its reform; New technologies in the case-law of the CJEU” with the First Advocate General of the Court of Justice, Professor Maciej Szpunar and the Referendary of CJEU, Krzysztof Pacula, PhD.
