The Faculty of Law and Administration announces the release of the latest publications in the IP LAB series, produced by The Centre for the Law of Design, Fashion and Advertising.

This unique publishing project is the result of interdisciplinary research workshops held in January 2026 as the culmination of a course on intellectual property strategies and law.

The publications take the form of proceedings, combining academic reflection with practical experience and the analysis of real-world cases from the fields of business, science, and the creative industries.

  • The first volume of “Proceedings of Comparative Perspectives on Intellectual Property in Ghana, Nigeria, and the International Regulatory System” focuses on a comparative analysis of intellectual property law systems in selected African countries – Ghana and Nigeria – and their relationship with the international regulatory system. The publication examines how these systems function in market practice, particularly in the context of the creative sectors.
  • The second volume of „Proceedings of Global Perspectives on Strategic Intellectual Property Management in Fashion Business” is dedicated to intellectual property management in the fashion industry. The authors analyze, among other topics, brand-building strategies, trademark protection, design and trade dress, as well as the impact of new technologies—including artificial intelligence—on creative and business processes.
  • The third volume of „Proceedings of Global Perspectives on Strategic Intellectual Property Management in Business and Science” explores the strategic role of intellectual property law in science and innovation. Particular attention is given to tools such as patents, trade secrets, and data protection, which support technological development and the creation of competitive advantage.

The scientific editors of the volumes are faculty members of the Department: prof. Marlena Jankowska-Augustyn and prof. Mirosław Pawełczyk from the University of Silesia; and prof. José Geraldo Romanello Bueno of Mackenzie Presbyterian University (Brazil).

The publications are available via open access at: https://www.lawinstyle.us.edu.pl/publikacje/seria-ip-lab/

We encourage you to read the latest materials, which demonstrate how intellectual property law translates into practical actions and strategies in the real world.
