ICRK “C4RE talks” | Competences for Research Excellence

The guest of the 1st part of the “C4RE talks” series is Prof. José M. Peiró Silla, PhD, from the University of Valencia. In his presentation called “Competences for Research Excellence,” he takes up a topic of competences that are crucial from the perspective of research excellence. The talk features experts and scientists associated with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Staff Development: Prof. Barbara Kożusznik, the Director of the Centre; Olaf Flak, PhD, DSc Eng.; and Grzegorz Filipowicz, PhD.

Prof. José M. Peiró Silla is one of the most significant European specialists in building one’s competences, especially regarding sustainable development and education. He is specialised in the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment. He is a professor at the University of Valencia, the Director of the Research Institute on Human Resources Psychology, Organisational Development and Quality of Working Life, and between 2012–2014 he was the Chair of the International Association of Applied Psychology. He has written over 50 books and 130 articles. He also carries on research on such issues as: labour market entry, preventing psychosocial hazards, service quality, team and organisational climate and culture, working teams, psychosocial ICT aspects. He received the honorary doctorate degree at the Universid de Metodista de São Paulo (2010), the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (2017), and the Maastrich University (2019). He has won multiple awards for his activity.
