Results of “Open Access” call for proposals
Almost PLN 0.5 million will be allocated to funding open access publications in prestigious high impact journals under “Open Access” call for proposals. The members of Evaluation Team and Scientific Board of Research Excellence Initiative assessed the applications, taking into consideration e.g. fulfilment of ‘open access criterion’ by the selected journal. The list of recommendations for funding approved by the Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice includes 56 applications from 13 institutes, most of which concern publication fees for articles of scientists from the Institute of Materials Engineering, Institute of Psychology and Institute of Chemistry.
The highest single funding amount is PLN 15,000, whereas the total amount of support awarded to our researchers is almost PLN 0.5 million.
The call for applications entitled “Open Access” Research Excellence Initiative is in line with one of the goals of Research Excellence Initiative, which assumes strengthening the visibility of the results of high quality research conducted at the University of Silesia in Katowice, and supporting scholars at all stages of their scientific development.
