Zainteresowania badawcze:
Joanna Ryszka – adiunkt w Instytucie Językoznawstwa Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach. Uzyskała podwójny stopień doktora nauk humanistycznych w dyscyplinie językoznawstwo na Uniwersytecie Śląskim w Katowicach i Uniwersytecie Sapienza w Rzymie.
Jej zainteresowania badawcze dotyczą kontaktu językowego, w szczególności zapożyczeń a także etymologią. Interesuje się również szeroko pojętym językoznawstwem kontrastywnym oraz socjolingwistyką. W swoich badaniach również podejmuje temat tłumaczeń i tłumaczy literackich.
Członkini zespołu badawczego Zjawiska językowe w dyskursach internetowych i medialnych w Instytucie Językoznawstwa UŚ oraz biura redakcyjnego czasopisma Status Quaestionis. Organizatorka warsztatów i konferencji językoznawczych takich jak Oriental Meetings in Sosnowiec oraz Humor Research Project.

Research interests:
Joanna Ryszka, an assistant professor in the Institute of Linguistics at the University of Silesia in Katowice. She obtained a double PhD from the Institute of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland, and the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
Her research interests concern language contact, particularly borrowings, as well as etymology. She is also interested in broadly understood contrastive linguistics and sociolinguistics. In her research, she also explores the field or translation and translator studies.
She is a member of the research group Linguistic phenomena in internet and media discourses at the Institute of Linguistics, and a member of the editorial board of Status Quaestionis. She has been involved in several projects, including seminars, workshops, and conferences such as Oriental Meetings in Sosnowiec and the Humor Research Project.
