Rafał Molencki, profesor doktor habilitowany nauk humanistycznych

urodzony w 1957 w Gliwicach, absolwent Uniwersytetu Śląskiego, anglista, językoznawca historyczny. W latach 2008-2016 dziekan Wydziału Filologicznego Uniwersytetu Śląskiego. Przewodniczący Komisji Językoznawstwa PAN Oddział Katowice. Redaktor naczelny Linguistica Silesiana. Stypendysta Fulbrighta w Stanford University w 1994/95. Uczestnik projektów europejskich MATCHPAD (2000-2002, tłumaczenia maszynowe) i ALFA PUENTES (2011-2014, ekspert i reprezentant strategiczny KRASP). Wypromował 13 doktorów. Autor trzech książek oraz ponad 60 artykułów, głównie na temat składni, semantyki i leksyki średniowiecznej angielszczyzny.
