The Open Day at the University of Silesia will take place on 24 March 2025 (Monday) from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at spinPLACE (Katowice, ul. Bankowa 5). There you will be able to meet people studying and working at the University of Silesia ready to answer all your questions!
The event will be an excellent opportunity to find out more about our offer of studies, as well as to talk to representatives of the Student Government and student research groups. The programme will also include free tutoring in the most commonly chosen matura exam subjects.
Who is it for?
The Open Day at the University of Silesia is for you if:
- You are a high school graduate and would like to find out more about the admission criteria and formalities of recruitment – our staff will explain everything to you!
- You would like to find out more about what scholarship programmes and forms of support the University of Silesia offers. University of Silesia employees and students are waiting for you, ready to share information about everything the University can do for you.
- You are still thinking about what to do next after hight school graduation – it doesn’t matter if you are taking your matura exam next year or in a few months. Our career advisors are great at finding the best possible solutions tailored to individual needs and they will show you the full spectrum of your options.
- You want to have a great time – check out the unique space of spinPlace, our University’s Centre for Creativity and Coworking. Here youu can pursue your passions, spend time with friends and even try your hand at the Egida Student Radio.

CONVERSATION ZONE
In this zone, we will answer all the questions that may be relevant for future high school graduates thinking of attending university.
Ground floor, conference room (registration required)
- 8.30 – 9.00 a.m. – How to enrol and not forget anything? – Talk on the rules of the admission process, admission process schedule and the admission form – link to form

In this unique space you will be able to ask questions to our employees and students.
Ground floor, Café Operacyjna (Operational Café)
- 8.25 a.m. – Opening of the event by Katarzyna Trynda, PhD, Assoc. Prof., Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education.
- 8.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. – Better to ask the way than to go astray – visit our information points and find out everything about the admission process, scholarships, student residence halls, services for people with disabilities, cooperation with the Career Office and the possibility of travelling abroad.
- 8.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. – demonstration stands of the Student Research Groups – our students will show you what they have learnt over the course of their studies and will do their best to demonstrate how fascinating science can be.
TUTORING ZONE
If any school subject are giving you a hard time, this zone is for you! Our scientists will explain everything to you!
4th floor, Rawa Club (registration required)
- 9.00 a.m.-2.00 p.m. – tutoring in mathematics (two groups), Polish, biology, chemistry, geography, citizenship education – links to the enrolment forms can be found under the subject names
CAREER COUNSELLING ZONE
In this zone you will be able to talk about your choice of studies and career path.
2nd floor, 3rd floor, career counselling for university applicants (registration required – link to form)
Individual consultations cantered around choosing a degree programme – three career advisors will be available to candidates during the event.

- 12.00 – 12.30 p.m.
