What do I do professionally?

I work in the International Admission Office. We recruit foreign candidates for the 1st, 2nd, and long-cycle studies. My job is to verify the candidates’ documents, which is not easy as each country has a different education system. I appreciate that I can work in an international environment and sometimes go abroad. It allows me to share my experiences with other people and to develop professionally.

I love working with people, especially with foreigners. I appreciate the trainings and business trips connected with my scope of work. I would like to contribute to the development of recruitment and to be appreciated for my commitment.

My first day at work

My first day of work was during the intensive recruitment period. I started to review the documents immediately, answering e-mails and phone calls at the same time. It was not easy, but the support of my superior was invaluable. My earlier experiences at the University of Silesia also helped me understand my work’s basics. The first day was demanding, but it motivated me to future work.

What suprised me?

I arrived in Poland 10 years ago when my Polish was not good. I remember when a shop assistant in Ligota, near my student house, started to talk to me in Polish, and I could not understand a word. I was so afraid I just left the shop. This experience encouraged me to learn Polish.

What I like about Katowice?

Katowice is a dynamic developing city full of greenery, parks, and lakes. I appreciate the closeness of various facilities and the well-developed public transport in Katowice. Katowice is the first city in Poland I visited and the city where I want to live.
