German Studies

German Studies degree programme is intended for candidates who associate their future with working in institutions and international enterprises where they use German or Swedish on a daily basis in contact with clients.

German, Swedish

We offer intensive learning of German or Swedish, providing knowledge about the realities of German-speaking countries and Sweden, their culture and history.

In addition, students learn the specificity of the studied language and literary and cultural texts that complement their excellent competence in the studied language and participate in translation classes (oral and written). They learn specialised languages, including business language, and can also follow the path of teaching a specialised language.

All classes are conducted by highly qualified academic staff, practitioners, translators and native speakers, including a lecturer from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Thanks to cooperation with partner universities in Germany and Sweden and other entities from the socio-economic environment of the region, students have the opportunity to participate, among others: in classes with business practitioners, translation workshops and numerous thematic seminars, including those conducted in Germany (‘Haus Schlesien’ in Königswinter). Under the signed agreements, students can complete part of the curriculum at partner universities, including the Saarland University in Saarbrücken, the Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg and Uppsala University in Sweden.
