We invite you to a guest lecture by Ágnes T. Mihálykó ‘The Eucharist in Late Antique Egypt”, which will take place on Friday, 27 January 2023, at 3.30 p.m., in the building of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia, in room A1.8 (ul. Uniwersytecka 4, Katowice).
Ágnes T. Mihálykó defend her doctorate in papyrology at the University of Oslo. She works at the University of Oslo and the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on Christian liturgical papyri, the history of the liturgy, and the history of Christian prayer. She is the author of the monograph ‘The Christian Liturgical Papyri: An Introduction’ (Mohr Siebeck, 2019). She is currently working on a corpus of Greek and Coptic liturgical prayers preserved on papyrus. She is also one of the editors in the research and publishing project ‘Prayer in the Ancient World’ (Brill).
The lecture is part of the NCN Sonata project ‘Ucieleśniona religia świeckich chrześcijan w późnoantycznym Egipcie’ [The Embodied Religion of Secular Christians in Late Antique Egypt] conducted by Przemysław Piwowarczyk, PhD.
