The Edukatorium Historyczno-Społeczne (Historical and Social Education) project implemented as part of the cooperation between the City of Katowice and the University of Silesia in Katowice won the Historical Event of the Year 2023 award in the Education category.
As part of the Open University at the University of Silesia, the project was coordinated by employees of the Institute of History of the University of Silesia (Marcela Gruszczyk, PhD, Prof. Lech Krzyżanowski and Prof. Miłosz Skrzypek), and Monika Szynol, PhD from our faculty participated in creating lesson plans for citizenship education classes.
In the same category, the film Wojciech Korfanty – Syn Ziemi Śląskiej (Wojciech Korfanty – Son of the Silesian Land), co-created by Maciej Marmola, PhD in cooperation with the Silesian Uprisings Museum, received a nomination.
