PHD STUDENT – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
Position: PhD student in physical sciences discipline
Unit of the project realization: Faculty of Science and Technology, Chorzów – University of Silesia in Katowice
PhD student’s tasks will include work on precision multiloop calculations for EWPOs at the Z-boson pole region and their implementation in EW libraries, developing analytical and numerical methods and tools for efficient evaluation of Feynman integrals and their application Monte Carlo generators, implementating new processes and missing radiative corrections within SM and beyond in the Monte Carlo event generator KKMC, tests of related programs, tight cooperation with members of the team, help in the preparation of publications and dissemination of results, work on preparation of PhD thesis.
Research will be carried out in the frame of the project „Precision Studies for particle-collider physics” (MAESTRO, UMO-2023/50/A/ST2/00224), financed from NCN under management of prof. dr hab. Duration of the scholarship: 36 months from 01.10.2025
Scholarship amount: 3000 PLN per month
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in physics or related sciences,
- Basic knowledge of particle physics confirmed by passing the appropriate course during the studies,
- Programming skills (preferably knowledge of computer algebra systems, Python, C, C ++, Fortran languages),
- Good command of the English language.
- Candidates should have the status of a doctoral student.
