We are pleased to invite you to participate in the events organized as part of the Guest Lectures series at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Silesia.
The guests for these sessions will be Prof. Ludmila Savanets and Prof. Hanna Poperechna from West Ukrainian National University in Ternopil.
Prof. Liudmyla Savanets serves as the head of the Department of International and European Law at West Ukrainian National University and is the coordinator of the School of Polish and European Law (a joint project of West Ukrainian National University and Jagiellonian University). She is a member of the editorial board and a reviewer for academic journals, in particular Osteuroparecht, Transformacje Prawa Prywatnego, and Prawne Problemy Górnictwa i Ochrony Środowiska. She has been involved in various projects concerning EU private law and its implementation into national law, particularly in the discussion of the draft directive on online intermediation platforms and in the work of the academic editorial team on the amendment of the Polish Civil Code.
Prof. Hanna Poperechna is also affiliated with West Ukrainian National University, and her research interests focus primarily on European law, contract law, labor law, and comparative analyses of legal systems. She is also the author and co-author of academic publications, including the article “The doctrine of hardship in contract law: a comparative study,” which analyzes the doctrine of change of circumstances in contract law across various legal systems, and the article “Peculiarities in concluding an employment contract in the labor codes and similar acts of foreign countries,” where she focuses on research into the regulation of employment contracts in various countries.

- 10:00 a.m., Room 1.4 – a meeting designed for faculty and staff of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia. During the discussion, we will focus on academic development and the benefits of international cooperation.
- 1:45 p.m., Room 3.19 – lecture for students: Prof. Liudmyla Savanets – “The Europeanization of Ukrainian sales law in light of the recodification of the Civil Code”
- 3:30 p.m., lecture hall no. 8 – lecture for students: Prof. Hanna Poperechna – “Recodification of Ukrainian Contract Law in the Light of EU Integration: Implementation of the Supply of Digital Content Directive”
