Verification of the scope of competencies and indicators assigned to them is the goal of the reference expert group workshop, which took place on 7 July 2020 roku as part of implementation of the project entitled „Interdisciplinary Centre for Staff Development – think tank for the development of key competencies of the Polish academic staff of the future”.
Scientists, teachers and support staff representing sixteen Polish universities discussed the currently designed model of competencies of the research staff and administrative support staff, which is intended to help manage people in the science and higher education sector, as well as contribute to strengthening the position of Polish science on the international arena.
So far, over forty competencies with assigned indicators have already been distinguished as part of the project. Members of the expert group, representing various Polish academic centres, have sent their comments to discuss the proposed changes later during the workshop.
All comments will be taken into consideration for the model development, and the competency set will also be subject to assessment by external experts. Ultimately, the tool is to be implemented and tested at several Polish universities, including the University of Silesia in Katowice.
The meeting was moderated by Dr Grzegorz Filipowicz, President at Polish Society HR Business Partner, expert in the field of professional development and construction of competency systems, Business Partner at ForFuture.
The project, supervised by Prof. Barbara Kożusznik, Plenipotentiary of the Rector for Staff Development, is implemented in cooperation with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Staff Development. Detailed information about the initiative is available at: www.us.edu.pl.
