Studies in Applied Geology are 10-semester Engineer’s degree studies dealing with applying knowledge in natural sciences about the Earth in practice. Applied Geology is an innovative degree programme that allows students to acquire numerous invaluable information and practical skills they may use in their future professional work. Those who decide to study on this degree programme will learn, e.g. about advanced application of computer technology in Earth sciences, how to compile environmental impact assessments, as well as about natural hazards, how to study and prevent them. Students learn the issues in physics, chemistry, maths and law in order to freely navigate throughout the world of geology.

Additionally, our offer includes a wide array of elective courses allowing students to develop individually in a specific direction. We also offer well-equipped laboratories and workrooms, along with a chance to collaborate with exceptional scientists when solving intriguing practical issues, often in cooperation with the industry.

From the 5th semester, students may choose one of five majors: Environmental Geochemistry and Mineralogy, Prospecting Geology, Mineral Resources Management, Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, and Geophysics. Graduates may apply for work in project offices, consulting companies, construction companies and self-government administration units.
