The Faculty
The Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia commenced its activities at the beginning of the academic year 2019/2020. The Faculty was established following the merger of the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection and the Faculty of Earth Sciences, which had been operating until recently. The newly created Faculty consists of:
- the Institute of Earth Sciences located at ul. Będzińska 60 in Sosnowiec.
- the Institute of Social and Economic Geography and Spatial Management located at ul. Będzińska 60 in Sosnowiec.
- the Institute of Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection housed in two buildings located in the centre of Katowice, one at ul. Jagiellońska 28, and the other at ul. Bankowa 9. Additionally, the Institute of Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Protection has at its disposal one of the buildings located on the Chorzów Campus, where the Laboratory of Botanical Documentation, Scientific Herbarium of the University of Silesia is housed.
