Peter Lang has published the monograph Forms of Masculinity. Volume 2 (https://www.peterlang.com/document/1666021) edited by Prof. Adam Dziadek.

The work was created within the framework of the National Programme for the Development of Humanities, as part of the research project Polish Men and Masculinities. Translation and English Edition of a Selection of Works from the ‘Studies on Masculinity’ Publishing Series (NPRH/U21/SP/496372/2021/10) coordinated by Prof. Adam Dziadek.

The monograph is based on an interdisciplinary and trans-discursive approach to the study of Polish masculinities in the 19th and 20th centuries, including “new masculinity”, which has become increasingly significant at the start of the 21st century. The book, a collection of essays, covers Polish literature from the Romantic period to the present day, with the aim of thoroughly rethinking Polish literary studies in the context of the various forms of masculinity that have taken shape in Polish culture over the last two centuries. The individual texts examine masculinity using a variety of methods, ranging from psychoanalysis and deconstruction, through feminist literary criticism, to queer studies. The literary works analysed reveal invaluable cultural dataoften constituting the most important source of knowledge about realitywhich no other field of study is able to map so precisely.
