W 2011 ukończyłam studia na Uniwersytecie Śląskim na specjalności języki stosowane: język francuski i język angielski. Obronioną w 2016 roku dysertację doktorską poświęciłam tematowi specyfiki tłumaczenia elementów świata wyobrażonego w literaturze fantasy XXI wieku z języka angielskiego na język francuski (promotor: prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Jarosz, promotorka pomocnicza: dr hab. Joanna Warmuzińska-Rogóż, prof. UŚ).

W pracy badawczej zajmuję się współczesnymi literaturami imaginatywnymi, zwłaszcza fantasy (historyczną), dystopią i futuryzmami, głównie w odniesieniu do kwestii czasu i elementów kulturowych, a także tematów paralelnych wobec realiów pozaliterackich. Badania te ujęłam w ramy projektu „Interakcje rzeczywistości ze światami fantastycznymi w literaturze współczesnej”, którego celem jest pokazanie, że literatury fantastyczne lub takie, które posiłkują się instrumentarium fantastycznym, rezonują z rzeczywistością, odzwierciedlając różnorodność kulturową oraz realne zagadnienia polityczne i społeczne, jak również zadając pytania o historię, teraźniejszość i przyszłość ludzkości. Interesuję się również przekładem współczesnej fantasy, szczególnie pod względem sposobów przedstawienia i rekonstrukcji językowej światów przedstawionych, także w kontekście kulturowym.

Wyniki swoich badań przedstawiłam na niemal 40 międzynarodowych konferencjach krajowych i zagranicznych, w formule stacjonarnej i zdalnej: między innymi we Francji (Lille, Le Mans, Épinal, Paryż, Toulon), Polsce (Kraków, Toruń, Olsztyn), Czechach (Praga, Brno) czy Wielkiej Brytanii (Londyn). Zajmuję się tekstami w językach francuskim, angielskim i polskim i opublikowałam prawie 25 artykułów i rozdziałów w tych trzech językach. W swojej pracy badawczej staram się także promować głosy spoza ścisłego mainstreamu zachodniego, twórczość autorów frankofońskich w Polsce i polską literaturę za granicą.

In 2011, I graduated from the University of Silesia in Katowice earning a degree in philology (applied languages: French and English). I received my Ph.D. in 2016 after defending a thesis on the specificity of the English-French translation of imaginary world elements in 21st-century fantasy literature (thesis supervisor: prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Jarosz, co-supervisor: dr hab. Joanna Warmuzińska-Rogóż, prof. UŚ).

 In my research, I focus on contemporary imaginative fiction, especially (historical) fantasy, dystopia, and futurism, mainly in reference to the question of time and cultural elements as well as themes parallel to consensus reality. The said research is being conducted in the framework of a working project entitled “Interactions of Reality and the Fantastic in Contemporary Fiction.” Its objective is to show that imaginative fiction or literature using imaginative instruments resonates with reality, reflecting cultural diversity and political and social issues, as well as asking questions about the history, the present, and the future of humanity. I am also interested in the translation of contemporary fantasy, in terms of presenting and reconstructing imaginary worlds in the cultural context.

I have presented the results of my research at almost forty international conferences in the country and abroad, in person and online: e.g., in France (Lille, Le Mans, Épinal, Paris, Toulon), Poland (Cracow, Torun, Olsztyn), Czech Republic (Prague, Brno) or the UK (London). I analyze texts in French, English, and Polish, and have published over twenty articles and chapters in these three languages. In my research, I try to popularize voices outside of the western mainstream, the work by Francophone authors in Poland, and Polish literature abroad.

Diplômée en philologie (langues appliquées : français et anglais) à l’Université de Silésie à Katowice, j’ai obtenu mon doctorat en 2016 après la soutenance d’une thèse sur la spécificité de la traduction vers le français des éléments du monde imaginaire de la littérature anglophone fantasy du XXIe siècle (directeur de thèse : prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Jarosz ; co-directrice : dr hab. Joanna Warmuzińska-Rogóż, prof. UŚ).

Mes recherches portent sur les littératures de l’imaginaire, surtout la fantasy (historique), la dystopie et les futurismes, particulièrement en référence à la question du temps et des éléments culturels ainsi que dans le contexte des thèmes parallèles à la réalité extra-littéraire. Ces sujets sont abordés dans le cadre du projet intitulé Interactions entre la réalité et l’imaginaire dans la fiction contemporaine dont l’objectif est de montrer que les littératures de l’imaginaire ou les littératures dotées d’instruments imaginaires résonnent avec la réalité en reflétant la diversité culturelle et les risques politiques et sociaux ainsi qu’en posant des questions sur l’histoire, le présent et l’avenir de l’humanité. Mes intérêts professionnels concernent également la traduction de la fantasy contemporaine, en termes de présentation et de reconstruction de mondes imaginaires dans le contexte culturel.

Les résultats de mes recherches ont été présentés à près de quarante colloques internationaux dans le pays et à l’étranger, en présentiel et en ligne, entre autres, en France (Lille, Le Mans, Épinal, Paris, Toulon), en Pologne (Cracovie, Torun, Olsztyn), en Tchéquie (Prague, Brno) et en Angleterre (Londres). Dans mon travail, j’analyse des textes écrits en français, en anglais et en polonais, et j’ai publié plus de vingtaine d’articles en ces trois langues. De plus, j’essaie de promouvoir des voix de l’extérieur du mainstream de l’Ouest anglophone, l’œuvre d’expression française en Pologne et la littérature polonaise à l’étranger.
