We invite you to send scientific articles for publication in the journal ‘Studia
Politicae Universitatis Silesiensis’ (SPUS). Our quarterly, currently affiliated with the
Institute of Political Science at the University of Silesia in Katowice, has been published
since 2005 and occupies an important place on the map of Polish political journals. In
the journal we publish original and previously not submitted to other periodicals
articles in the field of social sciences in the following disciplines:
– political and administrative studies,
– social communication and media science,
– security science,
– legal sciences.
Pursuant to the decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, these
disciplines are assigned to ‘Studia Politicae Universitatis Silesiensis’.
The editors of the journal particularly prefer the issues of public policies
(Evidence Based Policy). We are interested in forms and mechanisms of systemic solving
of key social problems by the state in consultation with representatives of various
interest groups, especially at the local and regional level. First of all, the editors of the
journal will prefer articles with empirical dimension and undertaking theoretical
problems in an original way. In the first and second quarter of the year volumes are
published in Polish, and in the third and fourth in other languages. The magazine
provides immediate open access to its content on the basis of free public access
supporting global exchange of knowledge. SPUS is indexed in the following databases
Arianta, BazHum, CEEOL (Central And Eastern Online Library), CEJSH (The Central
European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities), ERIH Plus, IC Journals Master List,
PBN (Polska Bibliografia Naukowa).
The whole editorial board systematically works on raising the rank of the journal.
As the result of these efforts in March 2019, our journal received a recommendation in
the first edition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Support for scientific
journals and was included in the list of 500 journals co-financed by the Ministry. This is
primarily associated with the support of the application process to the Scopus database
and a score for each submitted article in the amount of 20 points.
