Bomb threat
Notify the facility administrator or security, who will inform the appropriate services about the emergency. You can also notify the appropriate services directly by calling the emergency number 112.
When you call, provide the following information:
- the type of threat and the source of information about the threat (phone call, email, suspicious object);
- the content of the conversation with the person providing information about the bomb, their phone number, the email address from which the information about the threat was sent, and the time of the call or correspondence, a description of the location and appearance of the object.
What should you do in the event of a bomb threat?
If you have noticed an object (package, bag, device, etc.) of unknown origin left unattended, which you suspect may be (or may contain) a bomb:
- do not panic;
- keep safe distance;
- do not approach it and do not touch it;
- do not use your mobile phone near the device;
- warn others about the threat;
- follow the instructions of the Administrator and the relevant emergency services personnel to the letter.
If there is no threat to your safety:
- secure the area until the emergency services arrive, observing basic safety precautions;
- once the emergency services arrive at the scene of the bomb incident, they will take over;
- strictly follow the instructions of the officers;
- if there is no information about the specific location of the bomb, people in the building should check their working areas – they may find objects of unknown origin, and if they do, they should notify the person in charge of the operation.
REMEMBER!
- If you see a bomb, you are within its blast radius and must be careful.
- Do not touch suspicious objects.
- After the evacuation has been announced, remain calm, as this will allow you to leave the endangered building/area efficiently and safely.
- Specialised services will identify the explosive device.
- When leaving the facility, take your personal belongings with you – this will make it easier for the officers to carry out an explosive ordnance reconnaissance, as they will have fewer items to check.
- If you have forgotten something, do not return to the facility – your life is more important!
- If the vehicle parking area is included in the danger zone, do not try to rescue your car (this also applies to other valuable items) – your life is more important!
- If someone who was previously in the facility is missing from the assembly point, notify the person in charge of the operation.
- Curiosity is dangerous – move away from the area at risk of explosion as quickly as possible.
- Until the operation is over, do not call your family or other people not connected with the facility, who, driven by emotion or curiosity, may try to come to the facility, causing road blockages and thus hindering the access of emergency services.
