Justyna Budzik, PhD, DLitt from the Institute of Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia in Katowice has become a member of the European Film Academy (EFA). Members of the European Film Academy represent various areas of the film industry and take part in selecting the recipients of the European Film Awards.
The Academy’s mission is to promote and support European cinema. The EFA brings together more than 4,000 members, including over 200 professionals from Poland. Founded in 1989 by the renowned Swedish director Ingmar Bergman, the Academy has grown into a network of film professionals that fosters the exchange of knowledge and experience, supports the organisation of industry events, and, above all, celebrates outstanding European film productions.
