Katarzyna Węsierska, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia in Katowice is the first Polish woman in history to be among the distinguished speech therapists and audiologists in this year’s edition of the prestigious Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) award.
The ASHA-Fellow title is one of the most important distinctions awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association – ASHA. The award is granted for significant achievements and outstanding contributions to the development of communication sciences and communication disorders research. This year’s winners will receive their distinctions during the official award ceremony on 6 December 2024, as part of the annual ASHA convention in Seattle.
