The semi-finalists of the Student Academy Awards 2024, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, have been announced. Among the 62 semifinalists is a short narrative film by Bartłomiej Błaszczyński Take me to her (produced by the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School at the University of Silesia in Katowice). Semifinalists were selected from a total of 2683 films. Take me to her is the only Polish film to reach the semifinal stage.
Film description
Basia pretends in front of her husband that everything is fine. At her acting school entrance exams, she meets Alicia and her infant child, whom she takes care of. After a demanding performance and a difficult confrontation with her husband, Basia decides to kidnap Alicja’s baby and inadvertently puts her in danger. This shock makes Basia ready for change and treatment.
