The ‘With a Heart to the Patient’ Foundation of the American Heart of Poland Group organises the 2nd edition of the Central Patients’ Club. The event takes place on 24 September 2024 between 9.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. in the International Congress Centre in Katowice (plac Sławika i Antalla 1).
The Central Patients’ Club is a chance to take advantage of a wide array of free preventive and educational activities, including talks by outstanding experts in diseases of affluence, 35 stands with check-ups, 18 educational stands, workshops with the participation of well-known people from the world of sports and culture, and 28 expert stands.
Free check-ups
The array of check-ups features blood tests, spirometry, mammography, electrocardiography, blood glucose tests, and blood pressure tests. Participants will be able to talk with experts in various medical specialities, including cardiology, vascular surgery, oncology, and dietetics.
Workshops and talks
The talks will be delivered by outstanding experts, e.g. Prof. Andrzej Bochenek, who will present the latest methods of treating heart diseases. The programme includes talks with Robert Korzeniowski, a four-time Olympic champion in racewalking; Iwona Pavlović, a multiple Polish champion in ballroom dancing; and Apoloniusz Tajner, a famous former coach of the Polish national ski jumping team. Moreover, you will be entertained by DJ Vika, the oldest DJ in Poland; she will tell you how to stay young and invite you to the dancefloor. Participants may get a ‘knowledge jab’ – a bundle of practical information on how to stay healthy and how to prepare for basic health screening tests.
Racewalking with the Olympic champion and dancing with Iwona Pavlović
Health-beneficial activities with Robert and Justyna Korzeniowski are a perfect opportunity to discover the secrets of racewalking straight from the Olympic champion. You can also join a dancing workshop carried out by Iwona Pavolivić, Polish champion in ballroom dancing.
Themed zones and attractions
Participants can learn how to do a breast self-exam, take medicines safely, and provide first aid. Apart from that, the stand of Ustroń Spa is the place to receive advice from physiotherapists regarding cardiological, functional and respiratory rehabilitations. Among the attractions, you can find a relaxation zone and educational stands covering the issues of patients’ rights, clinical trials, and a healthy diet.
