The energetic efficiency, air quality, its protection, and adaptation to climate changes are some of the issues, which will be addressed during the Metropolis Energy Days. The event will start on 24 September (Friday) with two simultaneous conferences organised in the International Congress Centre in Katowice:
- “The energetic efficiency at school and home” – congress of pupils of secondary schools with programmes related to energetics and environmental protection,
- “The energetic efficiency within a municipality – challenges and possibilities” – a conference for local self-government representatives, during which the open seating of the Local Energy Policy Committee of the Silesian Union of Municipalities and Districts will take place.
During the congress of secondary schools pupils, Mariola Jabłońska, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor, the Director of the University Laboratories for Atmosphere Control, will deliver the lecture “Air quality and sources of its pollution.” The participants can also visit the University of Silesia stall.
The Metropolis Energy Days is a family picnic, which is great entertainment and an opportunity to learn numerous practical information. The programme of the event will feature numerous competitions, games and educational workshops, presentations of secondary schools and universities, stalls with information regarding anti-smog policy or fund central heating boilers replacement, as well as artistic performances.
