Under the V4 Humanities Education for the Climate. Diagnoses – Best Practices – Recommendations (HEC) project, the “Educational Projects in the Field of Environmental Activities” international conference organised by the Interdisciplinary Centre for Research on Humanistic Education (ICBEH) of the University of Silesia will take place on 23-24 September 2021.
The HEC initiative is realised within the Visegrad Group cooperation (V4), which is an informal regional alliance between four countries of Central Europe: Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia.
The V4 Humanities Education for the Climate aims at drawing close the issue of climatic changes and the necessity to reformulate tasks of the contemporary humanities in all countries. The organisers and speakers of the September conference will address specific issues of pro-environmental education, which, due to their interdisciplinary character, require appropriate tools and new methodological approaches suitable for each educational stage.
The conference will be inaugurated by the invited guests: Stanisław Gawłowski, PhD, the Chair of the Special Committee on Climate Affairs, and Prof. Wiesław Banyś, the Vice-Chair of the Main Committee for Science and Higher Education, a spokesperson of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland.
The free meeting will be held in English via the Teams platform. If you want to participate you should priorly register online (e-mail: rejestracjaV4@us.edu.pl).
