The performance of the Cieszyn Brass Band of the University of Silesia entitled ‘Brass Band in the World of Film Music’ is a combination of a concert of Polish and foreign film music and a lecture on this music genre. The event will last one hour. The programme will include compositions of popular film music titles from the beginning of the last century, as well as contemporary and most famous works of this genre.
Karol Pyka, PhD, DLitt, conductor of the Cieszyn Brass Band of the University of Silesia, will talk about music and familiarise listeners with content related to the origins of the works, profiles of composers and elements of the presented compositions.
The event will take place at spinPLACE in Cafe Operacyjna.
The event is carried out in the City-Region-Academia stream as part of the celebration of the European City of Science Katowice 2024. The event is co-financed by the Silesian Voivodeship, Co-organiser of the European City of Science Katowice 2024.
