The grand opening of the SPIN-Lab Centre for Microscopic Research on Matter takes place on 1 March 2023 at 12 noon. The Centre is located at ul. 75 Pułku Piechoty 1 in Chorzów.

The duties of the newly-established SPIN-Lab Centre for Microscopic Research on Matter include consolidating and developing the conducted in the region research on physicochemical properties of modern materials and nanomaterials that can be applied in medicine, pharmacy, aviation, motor industry and many more other branches. The new lab building is equipped with a transmission electron microscope adapted for research in cryogenic conditions, a focused ion beam/scanning electron microscope system, a scanning electron microscope with EDX, WDX detectors and a Raman spectrometer, a white light laser confocal microscope and an X-ray microtomography machine.

Additionally, it has been planned to sign the cooperation agreement with TESCAN company during the grand opening.

Investment activities were completed in 2022 by launching the most modern microscopy centre in Silesia specialising in correlation studies of matter, especially soft matter.
