On the occasion of the Children’s Day celebration, numerous attractions for kids are planned for Wednesday, 1 June, 2022 from 12 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the promenade in front of the rectorate of the University of Silesia. The attractions include artistic animations, games and activities, reading children’s literature under the “Tree of stories”. Our lecturers:
- 12.30 p.m.: Lucyna Sadzikowska, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof;
- 1 p.m.: Agata Daszkowska-Golec, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof,;
- 1.30 p.m. Prof. Tadeusz Sławek;
- 2.15 p.m. Rector of the University of Silesia, Prof. Ryszard Koziołek
are going to read their favourite childhood stories.
What is more, the children are going to build City of Science from large-format blocks.
The Science City is a space specifically designed for children aged 3 to 12, where they can independently create and build their dream city of science. Thanks to specially prepared plywood elements of various shapes, which can be combined with each other, children can build their own buildings, rooms, laboratories and even labyrinths. In addition, pillows and textile canopies will allow them to set up for good in their own city of science.
We encourage employees – in line with the slogan “Show your child where you work” – to come to work with their child that day (you can also use the option of picking up your child from school/kindergarten during your working hours).
For employees who would like to show their children their workplace, we have planned campus tours – registration and participation in one of them entitle you to leave work earlier that day. The tour schedule is as follows:
- Faculty of Natural Sciences (Katowice, ul. Bankowa 9) – start at 12 p.m.;
- Faculty of Law and Administration (Katowice, ul. Bankowa 11B) – start at 12.30 p.m.;
- Information Centre and Academic Library (CINiBA) (Katowice, ul. Bankowa 11A) – start at 2 p.m.
Please register in advance (application form available only in Polish), until 30 May.
Let Children’s Day bring a smile to all of us! We invite you to participate!
