On 27 October 2022, an open meeting with Anna Szawerna-Dyrszka, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor, took place at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The event was devoted to the book ‘Stanisław Baczyński: Propozycje. Nowa kultura – nowa cywilizacja’ (‘Stanisław Baczyński: Proposals. New culture – new civilisation’). The discussion was moderated by Prof. Marian Kisiel.
The meeting was held in a hybrid formula and was attended by employees, PhD students, students of USil’s Faculty of Humanities, as well as participants from outside of our University.
The event was organised by the Historical and Literary Commission of the Polish Academy of Sciences – Katowice branch.
Anna Szawerna-Dyrszka, PhD, DLitt, Associate Professor is a professor at the Institute of Literary Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia in Katowice. She is a researcher of Polish literature of the 20th century, author of works on the poetry of the second emigration as well as on literature and periodicals of the interwar period. She researches the literary life of Vilnius and the Vilnius avant-garde. She is a monographer and editor of the works of Teodor Bujnicki. Her literary output includes such titles as: ‘Doświadczanie czasu. O poezji Wacława Iwaniuka’ (‘Experiencing time. About the poetry of Wacław Iwaniek’) (Katowice 2000) , ‘Śmiech katastrofisty. Teodor Bujnicki w kręgu Żagarów’ (‘Catastrophist’s laughter. Teodor Bujnicki in the Żagary circle’) (Katowice 2007), ‘Bliższe i dalsze okolice Miłosza. Szkice’ (‘Closer and farther surroundings of Miłosz. Sketches’) (Katowice 2011).
