The changing global climate poses significant challenges that adversely affect our communities, particularly those that are marginalised or vulnerable. Cities must adopt adaptive strategies that not only address these climate challenges but also ensure equitable access for all citizens.
The meeting in English, ‘Justice-Centred Climate Adaptation for Resilient Cities’, will take place on Thursday, 21 November 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Lecture Hall No. 4 at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Silesia in Katowice.
The lecture will discuss the climate challenges faced by seven European cities collaborating to enhance climate policies through the JUSTGREEN project. The aim is to explore how different learning methodologies can assist cities in improving greening policies, making them more equitable and effective.
Chuma Mbambo-Lado, a guest speaker during Climate Week (18–24 November), is an expert in knowledge integration. Her work at the University of Technology within the Convergence Alliance in the Netherlands focuses on health inequalities and urban wellbeing.
