Polish Academic Championship in Powerlifting is another event of the Polish Championships rank, after futsal, snowboard and bridge, hosted by the University of Silesia.

Thanks to the increasing number of gyms and students attending them more and more willingly, one of the new sports disciplines – powerlifting – is developing dynamically. This is proven by this year’s Polish Academic Championships, which – according to the organisers’ estimates – will break the attendance record. Almost 600 students from 80 universities will participate in the powerlifting tournament, taking place from 6 to 8 May 2022.

The venue will be the sports hall of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Katowice-Szopienice (ul. 11 listopada 16). We encourage you to take part in the competition, break new Polish academic records and cheer on our students, who will be competing in the championship in large numbers.

Polish Academic Championship in Powerlifting is held under the honorary patronage of the Rector of the University of Silesia, the Marshal of the Silesian province and the Mayor of Katowice. The competition is organised by the Academic Sports Association and the Centre for Physical Education and Sport of the University of Silesia.
