Guest Lectures by Prof. Ajeet Singh

The Faculty of Humanities in Sosnowiec will host a guest lecture delivered by Prof. Ajeet Singh. The lecture is entitled ‘Assimilation of Tradition and Modernity in Contemporary Japanese Theatre’ and will take place on 3 June, at 9.45 a.m. in Classroom 0.51.

On the other hand, the Faculty of Humanities in Katowice will host our guest’s second lecture entitled ‘Rethinking the ‘Modern’ in the Context of Contemporary Indian Performance Space’, taking place on 6 June, at 2.00 p.m., in Classroom B0.39.

Ajeet Singh is a professor at Women’s University Khanpur Kalan (Northern India), a literature expert, culture researcher and theatrologist. In the past, he conducted comparative research on Hindu and Western literary theory and criticism, as well as theatre (including work on Jerzy Grotowski). He is currently carrying out a research grant project aimed at comparing the traditions of Hindu and Japanese theatre.
