International lectures as part of a seminar on the methodology of antiquity research

A series of international lectures in a seminar on the methodology of antiquity research has been scheduled to take place from April to June 2025 on Zoom. The guest lectures will be hosted by Filip Taterka, PhD from the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Meeting organiser and host: Filip Taterka, PhD – an Egyptologist, specialist in the hieroglyphic writing system, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures of the Polish Academy of Sciences, graduate of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, author of multiple scientific publications, and translator of Egyptian literature. His research interests revolve around the Egyptian ideology of royal power (especially during the reign of Hatshepsut), the expeditions to Punta, the writings of the country of the pharaohs, and the presence of Egypt in popular culture. For several years, he has also been teaching an open seminar on the methodology of antiquities research according to an original idea. Since 2024, he has been teaching classical Egyptian language (hieroglyphs) as part of the Mediterranean Studies degree programme at the University of Silesia in Katowice.
