Ladies and Gentlemen,
today there was a meeting on the detailed rules for providing data of the individuals willing to be vaccinated to the Ministry of Science and Education. The recording of the meeting is available at: www.youtube.com.
Over the last few days we have received many questions from you. Some of them have already been answered by the Ministry – please see the information below.
CONSENT TO VACCINATION
Currently, there are over 1,200 employees who declared the willingness to be vaccinated in our internal registration system. The registration form is active only until Wednesday, 17 February 2021, 11:59 p.m. Until then, all entitled individuals who are interested in vaccination may register individually at: formularze.us.edu.pl/szczepienia_covid. Data from the University are sent once a day, starting from today, until Thursday, 18 February 2021. As of now, we have not been informed about any planned extension of the deadline to register for vaccination.
ATTENTION: vaccination will be planned only for the individuals who agree to be vaccinated through the above-mentioned registration form. The data are not transmitted automatically based on the POL-on list, which was generated by the Ministry of Science and Education for all entitled individuals, but only for those who granted their consent. The information on who is entitled to vaccination was presented in the previous announcement, which is available at: us.edu.pl/en/komunikat-rektora-us-w-sprawie-szczepien.
VACCINATION DATES AND LOCATIONS
The date when vaccinations in our group begin is not known yet. However, the available vaccination points in every city have already been determined. Employees of the University of Silesia will be sent to 14 vaccination points with the highest capacity:
- 10 vaccination points in Katowice;
- 2 vaccination points in Sosnowiec;
- 1 vaccination point in Chorzów;
- 1 vaccination point in Cieszyn.
Ministry of Science and Education will provide employee data to the National Health Fund. We will receive information about the vaccination date directly from the vaccination point.
ACADEMICS AGED ABOVE 65
We have received from you requests to include the academics aged above 65 in the vaccination group as well. The currently effective exclusion is a governmental decision concerning the AstraZeneca vaccine. Together with the entire academic environment and Ministry of Science and Education we have taken efforts to include this group in the National Vaccination Programme along with the other academics.
The process of organising vaccinations for academics and other individuals running classes with students and doctoral students is in progress, and subsequent governmental regulations appear every day. We inform you about them as soon as possible, which is why sometimes you receive our correspondence so late. I kindly ask for your understanding.
