Silesia Week was the halfway point of the 50 Weeks in the City of Science. The participants looked at, observed, penetrated, (co)felt and learned about the underground of Silesia, its “fourth nature”, famous figures from Silesia, Silesian medicine and water for Silesia.
Hundreds of people took part in 66 events organised in 6 cities (27 locations). All activities were addressed to a wide audience. Speakers, lecturers and people conducting workshops and field trips argued that Silesia still hides many secrets. It is worth exploring, delving into and getting to know it, establishing personal, direct and active contact with what is the essence of Silesia. The organisers’ goal was to focus the participants’ attention on the historically, culturally and landscape-diverse Silesia.
The curator of the 25th Week in the City of Science was Lucyna Sadzikowska, PhD, DLitt, Assoc. Prof. from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Silesia, and the producer was Ewelina Budzińska-Góra, MA (Marketing Department of the University of Silesia).
