On 8 and 9 April 2024, the University of Silesia in Katowice hosted D. Francisco Javier Sanabria Valderrama – the Ambassador of Spain in Poland in 2017–2022.
During his visit, the Ambassador delivered a lecture for students in International Studies in Political Science and Diplomacy; it concerned the topic of Spanish diplomacy in the 3rd decade of the 21st century and was an invaluable contribution to the development of knowledge in and comprehension of international issues.
Additionally, the Ambassador introduced the career path in Spanish diplomacy through practical workshops, sharing therefore his wealth of experience and profound knowledge with future diplomats.
On the other day of his visit, the Ambassador met with Prof. Ryszard Koziołek, the Rector of the University of Silesia, and Prof. Zenon Gajdzica, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
It is worth noting that in 2022, D. Francisco Javier Sanabria Valderram was honoured with the Gold Badge of Merit for the University of Silesia, which proves his tremendous contribution to the development of our institution and international collaboration.
