Until 6 July, you can submit proposals for nominations for the POP Science Award taking place as part of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE 2021. The awards are granted in an open competition to persons and projects that promote science communication. Anyone can submit nominations in five categories (by submitting themselves or other people):
- video blog,
- blog or website,
- radio broadcast or podcast
- think globally, act locally – scientist and/or university lecturer
- think globally, act locally – resident of the Śląskie Province
Two regional categories award people who promote knowledge using different communication channels and are a university representative of or act without such an affiliation (e.g. in a school, an NGO).
The jury appointed by the organiser of the Silesian Science Festival KATOWICE will select nominees from the submitted applications, while the winners will be announced as a result of the voting scheduled for autumn 2021.

The winners of the last edition of POP Science include:
- Dawid Myśliwiec for the video blog “Uwaga! Naukowy Bełkot”,
- Ola Stanisławska and Piotr Stanisławski for the blog “Crazy Nauka” and for the TOK FM radio audition “Homo Science”,
- Piotr Skubała in the category of think globally, act locally – scientist and/or university lecturer,
- Ryszard Kulik, PhD in the category of think globally, act locally – resident of the Śląskie Province.
