Interdyscyplinarne Centrum Badań nad Upadłością, Restrukturyzacją i Egzekucją

The Centre was established to formalise and strengthen research collaboration among representatives of legal, economic, and social sciences. Its goal is to conduct interdisciplinary research on bankruptcy, restructuring, and enforcement, encompassing both natural and legal persons. The Centre is a university unit enabling comprehensive research on these phenomena from a legal, economic and sociological perspective.

The Centre’s mission is to combine various research methods and address current economic challenges, such as the effects of the pandemic, inflation, the transformation of economic sectors, and the resulting increase in bankruptcy risk. Research areas include, among others, the relationship between bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings, the effectiveness of satisfying creditors, actions against transactions by the bankrupt party, and the role of security on property. Analysing the effectiveness of restructuring and enforcement proceedings is also a significant element of the Centre’s activities.

Director of the Centre: Andrzej Torbus, PhD, DSc, Assoc. Prof. (andrzej.torbus@us.edu.pl)
